Phelps School Age Programs
Having proudly operated our School Age Program at Phelps School since September 2024, we have seen tremendous growth in both our program and the relationships built within the Redbridge community. We are proud to provide quality care and meaningful experiences for the children and families who have utilized our services.
Our School Age Program offers before and after school care, as well as full-day care during PD days and school breaks for children attending Phelps School and families within the Redbridge community.
The program supports children ages 4–12 years and operates Monday to Friday from 7:00–8:45 a.m. and 2:45–6:00 p.m., with full-day programming available from 7:00a.m.–6:00 p.m.

My name is Kara. I have been employed with Friends Forever since 2022, and have been a Registered Early Childhood Educator since 2019. I have worked in the field of education since 2017. I worked in the Senior Preschool program for only a short time, and am more familiar with working in toddler programs. I am bilingual and love to practice my French with the French speaking children in my care. What makes me most passionate about the field of Early Childhood Education is that I am a part of a child’s growth and I get to see them achieve their goals. “The future of the world is in my classroom today”.
Meet our Administrator!
Hello, my name is Holly and I have been an educator with Friends Forever since 2014. Starting out as a program educator and moving into a supervisor role for 4 years. I moved into the role of administrator for our Northern sites in 2025, and I thoroughly enjoy being part of each of our programs across the different districts. I have always loved supporting Friends Forever as a pillar of our community for families. I believe we are a shining example of what quality childcare means and I am happy to be here to support our families and future families with any of their questions or needs.

Our program operates using the How Does Learning Happen curriculum, teaching all children the importance of well being, expression, belonging and engagement. We thrive to provide a fun, safe and inclusive program for all children that need childcare in Redbridge and area.

Our school age program offers a structured, child led environment that works within the pedagogy that friends forever follows of How Does Learning Happen. This Pedagogy looks at all children as competent, capable and rich in potential. We feel this allows for the children to become an active member of the classroom community ensuring they feel a sense of well-being and engagement in a positive and knowledge-fueled environment.

Our School-Age Program follows a similar structure to our Preschool Program – continuing to maintain its flexibility to ensure it is child-lead. During the school year, school-age children are dropped off at our centre, bussed to school, bussed back to the centre after school, and stay at the centre until they are picked up. School-age children are encouraged to self-serve food with the support of educators and, weather permitting, they are taken outside twice a day. Field trips are planned for full-day care, some of which include an extra cost to parents.
